43mm here.
Interestingly we are on 540mm for the year the same as this point last year. Overall wetter than average . Ended up with 1050mm last year whilst the average should be 800ish unless this is the new normal.

I'm surprised that 27.8mm is the official highest rainfall measured in the UK yesterday. I drove from Frinton to Surrey yesterday afternoon and went through several torrential downpours.

Another dry month here unless something dramatic happens these last few days, 40mm (-30mm) currently.
Year to date is now also on the dry side with 410mm (-27mm)

There are only 4 days left of this month after today and now, there has been no significant rainfall here in Edinburgh since 11 July 2021 which is more than two weeks ago.

We were supposed to get some showers or thunderstorms during yesterday but these failed to materialised, and there has been quite a number of places down south which more recently, have failed to get the thunderstorms which they were supposed to be getting.

There is a lot of rain in the forecast for the rest of this month but based on what I have just said above, that is something which I don't have any real confidence in and so, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if our current totals for this month ended up being the the final totals for this month in the end.

For the record, our running totals for this month remain resolutely stuck at 91.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, along with just 62.2 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

In terms of the actual rainfall amounts, we have had no problems with getting a wetter than average month at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, but it has been a completely different story at Edinburgh Gogarbank where the total for this month remains slightly below the 1981-2010 July average for that particular station.

In terms of the number of official rain days, we are now struggling to get a wetter than average month at either of this stations and there is now, virtually no chance of this summer being wetter than average overall in terms of the number of official rain days, especially at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

In addition to that, our totals for this year have also fallen to a bit below where should be just now as well.
