Wonder why no mentioned in the media about the north pole still extremely cold at this time of the year when it now getting 24 hours daylight/sunshine should warm things up over that to allow UK to start getting normal warm to hot spells by now?  Today now 1 month and 10 days left for longest day and all had gone wasted and not useable at all, either too cold when sunny or wet and cold.

It’s certainly not been a great month, but nor has it been a washout/write off. Most days of late have been average, or slightly below, with the odd day above. I guess what winds me up is the hyperbole - calling entire months write-offs, then writing off whole seasons. It has no basis in meteorological science.

LOL. To adapt a famous saying, 'They also play who only stand and wait - and get very cold'

Weather wise it looks like a continuation of the southerly tracking jet with blocking to the east and/or north, putting the UK in cool and predominantly unsettled conditions. Not particularly inspiring but it is what it is.  I just hope we're not looking at another drenching summer like 2012.
