Footage of falling ash beginning to come in on Twitter. At the moment they are saying the eruption has reached 23,000 feet. Would not be surprised to see that altitude increase.

My Windows random photo on the start up screen had St Kitts today. Perhaps on purpose or just a coincidence!

Another little fissure has opened up overnight in Iceland, situated between the second and third (by date). Not particularly active by the looks but at least some of the lava from the more active second fissure is now feeding back in to the original valley, so the area is getting more generally covered with lava.

It does however look like there is a significant level of ash falling though which may cause a few problems (not such on Saint Vincent but also on Bardados)

Edit: Based on the Volcanic Ash Advisory it seems that the ash cloud extends to an altitude of 52000ft (nearly 16km). https://twitter.com/WashVAAC/status/1380858055433330688/photo/1

Pretty serious series of eruptions all said, and given its location coupled with our prevailing SW'lys, one wonders if we'll start seeing some of that volcanic dust in the skies over this side of the Atlantic with time.

RVK Newscast #93: An Incredible Lava Flow Break Out Of The Mountain & Melt The Snowy Ground - YouTube

Another of the RVK vids on the Icelandic eruption, captures a big lava flow from the 2nd fissure (around 10 to 11 minutes in), which is the flow that made it down to the original eruption point yesterday. Footage was presumably shot a few hours before the 4th little fissure opened up.

The Soufriere eruption is still producing some very large explosive events and there are suggestions that there is high risk of pyroclastic flows in the vicinity.

From what I can see on the camera's in Iceland, at the moment, there appears to be some more new lava vents opened up, either side of the 3rd vent/volcano. Otherwise I'm not sure what all the bright red jumping colours are, that have appeared there during the last 12 hours or so.

Got it - a toasted fried-egg sandwich - wholemeal bread! On a china plate that you then drop on a tile floor to break for a sound effect. While watching the live feed, of course.

Must make the authorities there quite nervous when you've got so many bods wandering around the site and every few days the ground splits open!
