Here in Edinburgh, the temperature at 7pm this evening had jumped up to 5.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so I can now already safely say that it won't be snowing here any time soon.
EDIT:
Actually, it turns out that I might have been looking at the wrong data earlier on because having checked that more thoroughly, I have noticed that the temperature at 7pm this evening was actually 1.5°C rather than what I actually reported here.
From that, we might still be in with a chance of getting some snow after all although we could do with the dew point dropping a bit there as that is still slightly above freezing at that particular station which could be enough to scupper our chances of getting snow.
FURTHER EDIT:
As at 9pm this evening, the dew point at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh had dropped to below freezing and we even have an official air frost at Edinburgh Gogarbank, so this is all starting to look quite good now for some snow to possibly be on the way in this part of the world.
