Caen near the north French coast reached 35.0C @1200
Holding steady at 29.3c but with the source of air directly off the continent with a minimal sea track of 22 miles I expect the temperature to start climbing again in tandem with our French neighbours.
My friend Claude in Calais is cooking onions for his lunch today, its stinging my eyes !
31.3C here at 1pm. A rise of exactly 2C in an hour.Heathrow on 33.5C at 1pm. Last Friday it was 35.7C at the same time. With cloud on the way I think 36C is going to be the limit.
I can see what looks like cumulus in the far west.
My wife went to the coast at Christchurch with the kids so is probably going to get rained on before long...
We went there at 8am; just got back. Hot and sunny but she might suffer in the 14 mile tailbacks we saw as we were returning!
34C here. still completely cloudless here but a little breeze has picked up from the stillness earlier
Kew Gardens not too far behind Heathrow at 33.0C
Meanwhile it's 25C with mostly overcast skies here!
Good luck to those in the South East though, there's certainly the potential for some record, or near-record breaking temperatures this afternoon.

30.1c here @ 13:52hrs
locally we are approx 1c lower than this time last week.
35c here now
Real shame there is a shortage of official stations in Kent.
Thought we were doing well here, just broken 33C at 1.50pm
Cloud approaching though as can be seen on the webcam up the road: https://www.blackbusheairport.co.uk/weather/
I do not envy those in the SE of England with these sort of temps at all. Will be envious though when the inevitable thunderstorms get going over there over this weekend.
