But I have a question - the x axis seems to be stuck on 11 May. How do I get up to date data? I understand there is a weeks lag, so surely it should be showing up to 14th May?

Edit: just noticed it is showing more recent data, but only labelled the 11th. Specsavers for me!

Looks like symptom reports starting to increase slightly.

Its gone up again today. 279,188 cases

Breaking: Downing Street has announced they have struck a deal to supply Roche antibody tests. They will be available on the NHS health and care workers first in line to receive them.

The numbers from the virus surveillance from the ONS are not good, they show ~8,700 new infections per day over the last 2 weeks (61,000 per week) in the general population (hospitals and care homes are excluded). Track and trace has little chance of succeeding with these kind of numbers and a further relaxation of the lockdown can easily cause an increase.

At 'present' 0.25% of our population is infected, most other European countries have significantly lower numbers.

The decision to come out of lockdown fully has already been made. We have to remain economically competitive with the rest of the world and to hell with public health. Sage will report what Cummings asks them to

We went into lockdown 2 weeks too late, failed to impose a tough enough lockdown, and broke it too soon.

If this was a war, Boris Johnson is guilty of a war crime. Yet, thanks to the slavish support of most of the UK media, he gets away with it and the morons still cheer his name from the rooftops

And we have a hard Brexit to come in a few months time!

I gave up on this stupid country last year. I am now just hanging around to watch it implode

Interesting to read about how Greece is trying to save some of its holiday season, Britain and Germany are their 2 biggest markets, but at the moment their scientific task force has vetoed allowing British tourists to enter Greece because they consider the UK as an unsafe country.

A bit of info here https://www.itv.com/news/2020-05-20/greece-to-allow-international-flights-to-tourist-destinations-from-july-1/

Any country would be mad to allow visitors from the most infected failed state in the world. Let alone pot bellied lager louts shouting "INGERLAAAND"

The graph on the website is updated manually. Currently it only goes up to the 16th May, when there were 252,926 cases.

Yesterday, the total had gone up to about 275,000 (I forget the exact number) and today it's on 279,188 as you can see here:

https://covid.joinzoe.com/

I expect they'll update the graph in the next few days.

I'd swap our 28C for their rain right now. 53 dry days since lockdown just 7 with any rain. Whoops OT - anyone would think this was a weather forum

I think you must have missed my lengthy discussion of this earlier today, page one I think. All very interesting.

For Some pubs it would not be financially viable to open until all restrictions are lifted

One of my locals is a big pub but never gets huge numbers, it also has a large beer garden. Don’t think the landlord will have any issue with social distancing and I’ll be pleased with table service. The other one, however, is small (does have a beer garden though) so that landlord will find it more of a challenge I’d imagine.

No idea. I voted for him on the "best of a bad choice" policy. My lawn is getting a bit long to practice my golf so I may be seeing him soon.

It's funny you know, but there are many Anglophiles in Greece and they seem to prefer Brits over Germans. Parts of their tourism industry are pushing for Britain not to be excluded (money talks), but so far their scientists had the upper hand in their handling of the pandemic.
