It's another day here in Edinburgh, and yet another morning where it is currently raining here as this wet and miserable month of February goes on. Since 9am yesterday morning, a total of 5.0 mm of rain has fallen at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 7am this morning, along with 3.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. That is mainly the result of some showers which occurred during yesterday and the early part of last night, although this latest weather system has arrived a bit earlier than what it was forecast to and so now, we haven't even able to get that bright start to today which we were at least, supposed to get before that rain moved in.
Furthermore, I'm sure that it is also a bit windier here than what it was forecast to be. The winds are still continuing to pick up and were already gusting up to 48.5mph from the SW at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 7am this morning.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 0.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 1.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. However, those temperatures were reached very early during yesterday evening before the temperatures then jumped back up with this cloud, wind and rain moving in and so, it is a bit frustrating that yet again, it just hasn't managed to quite get cold enough for an official air frost at any of my three local stations after coming so close to that.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 7am this morning was around 6°C here in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
