Before Lorenzo actually arrives, spare a thought for the Azores with severe damage and top winds of 110mph (and 128 mph at an unofficial station)
NHC has stopped following Lorenzo as it's now extra-tropical but not before posting this remarkable, not to say unique, wind speed chart.showing just how large Lorenzo's wind field is, and how far east it will penetrate. Weather Underground suggests sustained wind speeds of 70 mph for W Ireland and wave heights near shore of 35 feet (Wave hghts at sea were measured at 50ft and it is likely that individual waves were twice this)
