Well, this is so frustrating!!
Last night was a lot colder than of late under clear skies and very little wind and yet, it just didn't quite get cold enough for an official air frost at any of my three local stations and so, our frost-free hell goes on.
That in turn makes it hard to believe that at around this time last year, we were recording official ice days in this part of the world, even going into the first day of the meteorological spring.
Nevertheless, that has now taken us into a bright and sunny morning.which means that a total of 48 minutes of sunshine has already been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 9am this morning.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 0.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 0°C at Edinburgh Airport and 1.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 9am this morning was 3.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 2°C at Edinburgh Airport and 3.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
