Cloudy at times, and still very windy with mean wind speeds at Edinburgh Gogarbank of 24.2mph from the SW as at midnight, but with gusts up to 40.4mph.

What is also remarkable is that the air pressure is also very low at 970.9mb and falling at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at midnight. This isn't something which I have been recording but if my memory serves me right, that is likely to be the lowest air pressure which we have had during this winter, and possibly for some considerable amount of time.

In the end, a total of 6.2 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank, along with 4.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This made yesterday, the wettest day of the winter so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

As a result of there being far too much wind around and also too much cloud around, the temperatures are still refusing to drop.

With that in mind, the temperature at midnight was 6.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

EDIT:

I've just looked out again and noticed that it has now started raining here once again.

It's another cloudy morning here, but with the odd brighter spell.

There was a little bit of rain just after midnight, but this has only resulted in a total of 0.6 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with just 0.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as at 8am this morning.

It's still very windy though with the wind at Edinburgh Gogarbank still gusting up to 36.7mph from the WSW at 8am this morning.

With all of that cloud and wind around, the temperatures refused to drop and so, our frost-free hell goes on.

Last night's minimum temperature was 4.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 4°C at Edinburgh Airport and 4.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 7.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Winds really picked up early a.m. demanding windows 'latched' so we didn't lose them!

Still blowy but rain now pushed off.

Bright 'n' breezy, everything drying up quite easily (well, only 2.4 mm fell yesterday). However, it is making the current 9.8 c & 76% h feel fresh & airy.

Cooling slowly, but with sunshine and blustery NW wind it feels rather March-like - with significant drying effect already evident.

Raining. 6.8 c & 92% h but winds are light at the moment.

With 4.2 mm so far this evening, it's already wetter than the whole of yesterday put together. At least it should be a quiet night around here as I can't imagine the local night clubbers would want to hang around outside for too long, unless drunk or stupid  . . . . oh, wait . . .
