Cloudy at times, and still very windy with mean wind speeds at Edinburgh Gogarbank of 24.2mph from the SW as at midnight, but with gusts up to 40.4mph.
What is also remarkable is that the air pressure is also very low at 970.9mb and falling at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at midnight. This isn't something which I have been recording but if my memory serves me right, that is likely to be the lowest air pressure which we have had during this winter, and possibly for some considerable amount of time.
In the end, a total of 6.2 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank, along with 4.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This made yesterday, the wettest day of the winter so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
As a result of there being far too much wind around and also too much cloud around, the temperatures are still refusing to drop.
With that in mind, the temperature at midnight was 6.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
EDIT:
I've just looked out again and noticed that it has now started raining here once again.
