Amber warning out now covering a small area to the west of london including the chilterns. Fortunately I'm right in the middle. We've got a good couple of inches here now with more to come, so turning into a decent fall. Expect schools to be closed tomorrow and after dampening their expectations before bed, my kids are gonna be delighted when they wake you up.

Surely the MetO needs to update their weather warnings?! Currently yellow with 1-3cm... yours sounds it should be an Amber, especially given the Chilterns are so close where things could only be worse/better!

Woken up to a blanket this morning, schools closed for both, delivered! π
Looks like close to 5cm here.
Still dark here in Berkhamsted but the amazing Google night sight turns night into day. It looks like we've had around 5cm of snow but confirm later. Temp -0.1C, DP -1C. pic.twitter.com/24ix261jZv— TheWeatherOutlook (@TWOweather) February 1, 2019

Very nasty conditions in Basingstoke this morning. A good 5cm of snow and still falling heavily. Even major roads are covered in snow. Very difficult drive to the station. Then when I got on my train the fire alarm went off. Smoke billowing from the (diesel) train. Station evacuated. Now on another train to London.
A good 8-10cm here
Fresh covering of unforecast snow here. Convective snow from the east this time!
What a brilliant spell!
Maybe 3cm or so at its deepest here, so not bad but not amazing
Edit: checked with daughter and can upgrade to 4cmπ
Work: Tonbridge
It was a nice picturesque trip home from work this morning with the trees loaded with snow and looking brilliant. At home I let the dog out and the snow was half way up the door which confused the mutt. We've got around 5 to 6 inches and the snow is still chucking it down out there, bit more than forecast I think. I was surprised to see the main roads covered and looks like the grit hadn't worked too well, the roads though should improve once more vehicles use them. Great sight but I wish it would last a few days rather than here today gone tomorrow

Gone tomorrow? Already turning to slush on the Sussex coast, though up on the Downs there are reports of 5-10cm. A relatively slow accumulation, so main roads have been kept clear.

I've found where north Kent's snow ended up - here's the wolf centre! (A few miles SW of Reading, up in the hills).

about half an inch of soft hail here, nice covering of white to wake up to but it's sleety/rain now so won't last long
