Has it ever snowed in the postwar era in your location?
yes we had a dusting the other day- I did mention it in the snow reports 🤣
Big snow event for the south at 150h with the channel low
12s so far GEM and ICON blow the low up to far west again like yesterday. UKMO and GFS don't and its a snowfest.
Unfortunately ICON seems to have been the star performer so far this winter.
also a lot of cold rain
I remember you saying 2010 in the midst of that big freeze it was raining in your location Jacko
Yes annoyingly so, the model of doom.
Looking again I'm starting to think the UKMO actually looks more like the ICON at 144h. What does anybody else think?
Yes could be a little snow maker esp as it clears southward...it's the 3rd time it's cropped up now :
It doesn't look at all mild to be, that's for sure.
GFS 12z starting to look quite interesting as we go further into FI.

At 144h UKMO is a great chart but does it go on to look like ICON?
I'm giddy with anticipation David:

Why won't that high just flip off?
please stop trolling. You know full well freezing rain was reported in the East Midlands on the occasion in question as other members reported it too.
Nice south coast snow event this time next week on the GFSP too.

It's Brexit yet again taking it's toll and the weather punishing us for leaving! - Yet again cold air goes down into the Bulkans and Greece and eventually Turkey! - That want to join the EU). BUt as for the UK - it's the same old really!
We won't get an answer to that one Ally as T144 is as far ahead as the UKMO runs go.
For me, generally speaking, it is a case of steady as she goes at the moment. No frigid easterlies on the horizon, but at the same time no return to mild conditions any time soon seems likely once the milder blip of tomorrow and Saturday has passed.
