There is still a lot of cloud around, but also a few breaks in that cloud. In fact, the Sun is shining through one of those clouds as I speak, although nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.
Incidentally, I have noticed that although yesterday wasn't quite a completely sunless day at Edinburgh Gogarbank, yesterday was officially a sunless day at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh with nothing in the way of sunshine being recorded there for yesterday. This made yesterday, the 5th sunless day of this month there so far, and the 18th sunless day of this winter so far at that station (it is interesting that the botanic gardens in Edinburgh has had more sunshine during this winter so far than Edinburgh Gogarbank, but has also had more completely sunless days during this winter so far). However, I don't see today going down as a completely sunless day at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon was 8.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.3°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
