You are in the lucky sliver of sunshine.
Less fortunate here at the moment under cloudy skies with a cool breeze at 3°C.

Anyway and back on topic, an almost completely sunny afternoon here in Edinburgh means that in the end, a total of 4.4 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank. That makes today, our sunniest day of this year so far by quite a distance and it means that this year has actually got off to a fairly sunny start here with that happening as part of a winter which has also been sunnier than average so far up until this point in time in this part of the world.
Today's maximum temperature was 2.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 2°C at Edinburgh Airport and 0.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. This means that there will be no official ice day here in Edinburgh today, but the frost which formed during last night has failed to clear away all day with quite a bit of that still around.
As it has turned out as well, the temperatures weren't above freezing for long and with the Sun having now gone down, an official air frost has already set in once again at Edinburgh Gogarbank and the botanic gardens in Edinburgh although there is more in the way starting to appear now which could yet result in that frost not being around for very long.
In the meantime though, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was -0.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 0°C at Edinburgh Airport and -1.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
