Cloudy and overcast with a lot of dampness around, although it's not actually raining just now.
In the end, a total of 0.8 mm of rain fell during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 2.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
As a result of there being too much cloud around, the temperatures are still refusing to drop. The temperatures have actually been rising throughout the day since yesterday morning, and are still continuing to slowly go up. This means that the temperature at two of my three local stations were actually higher at midnight than what they have been at any point in time during yesterday, so it is clearly a lot milder just now than what it was 24 hours ago.
With that in mind, the temperature at midnight had now gone up to 5.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 6.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
So much then, for this so-called "cold" spell which we are meant to be in just now.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
