With so much showery activity in the vicinity of this area throughout today, it was never going to be possible for all of these showers to completely avoid this part of the world altogether. In the end, that has been proved to be true, but the end result of this is that a total of just 0.2 mm of rain was recorded for yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 0.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh and now, those showers appear to have died out altogether.

However and not for the first time in recent days, the temperatures are still once again, refusing to drop as a result of there being too much cloud around and too much of a breeze.

As a result, the temperature at midnight was 8.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

A number of showers during the early hours of this morning have resulted in a total of 0.6 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning along with 0.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

There are still some showers around to the south and west of here, but these are now slowly dying out and fading. The sky in this part of the world is now a lot clearer and the Sun is now shining as I write.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 7.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 7.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 9.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

After some heavy thundery showers with hail overnight, we now have clear skies, with a light SW breeze.

Variable amounts of cloud with some decent sunny spells at times. This has resulted in a total of 1.5 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

There has been much more of a wind during this morning though with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank reaching 29.8mph from the WSW as at 12 noon.

However, today is slightly milder than yesterday once again and the temperature at 12 noon was 11.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

This afternoon brought us plenty of sunshine and in the end, a total of 4.7 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Today's maximum temperature was 11.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh with these temperatures being reached exactly at 12 noon.

This means that the temperatures have dropped a bit during the course of this afternoon and so, the temperature at 4pm this afternoon was 9.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

It has now clouded over since my last report and yet again, too much cloud means that the temperatures are already refusing to drop. In fact, the temperatures have actually shot back up a bit over the last couple of hours although the wind has died down a bit.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8pm this evening was back up to 10.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Turned out decent enough with good sunny spells today, even achieved a max of 14.6 c at 1.30 pm which felt pleasantly mild in light winds when I popped into the town at about that time. Still a mild 12.4 c as I type this at 9.30 pm.

A vast improvement on the recent Autumnal crud.
