Rather cloudy here in Edinburgh and after dropping for a while during the early part of yesterday evening, the temperature has jumped back up a bit during the last couple of hours, and is now refusing to drop once again.

As a result of that, the temperature at midnight was 8.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 9°C at Edinburgh Airport and 9.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Nothing much to report here which is very much different from that same old boring weather which we have seen all too often over the last few months as this complete borefest of an autumn drags on.

In other words, lots of cloud (the days started on a dull and overcast note) with a few breaks in that cloud, some hints of brightness and with nothing happening which can be regarded as even remotely interesting.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 7.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7°C at Edinburgh Airport and 8.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh. Once again though, those temperatures were reached fairly early during yesterday evening before the temperature then jumped back up again.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 10.1°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 10°C at Edinburgh Airport and 10.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Calm and quite foggy earlier on, with an estimated visibility of 100 metres.  During the last hour the S breeze has picked up and the fog has cleared, leaving mostly altostratus cloud cover.  No rain, but everything wet.

9.5*C after a minimum of 8.4*C at 2.45am.

I didn't get the chance to comment more about the weather conditions yesterday, but outside in the morning it was like being in a tepid sauna.  Very humid, surprisingly mild for the time of year, and when working wearing a sweatshirt I got quite hot.  But if I took the sweatshirt off and stood still it was chilly.  Very strange.

A very pleasantly dry & bright day with some sun and broken cloud. Currently 15.7 c & 83% h but a brisk southerly wind is taking the edge off it a little (ideal for airing the house out with a couple of windows open).

If anyone is wondering about my lack of posts today on this thread, there are two reasons for that.

1- Lack of Data. If there is not enough data coming through from the various sources which I get that from in order for me to compile these posts properly, I can't then report that and this is exactly what has happened today, and which is still continuing to happen. That is very frustrating for me and not acceptable in this day and age.

2 - Lack of interesting weather. If the weather is just too boring to report, there is no point in doing so as far as I am concerned, and today has just been a complete borefest as far as I am concerned with very little actually happening which is even remotely interesting.

Today has brought a lot of cloud with some sunshine with a total of 1.5 hours of sunshine being recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank and although there has also been more of a breeze today, that is just the same old boring fare which I have reported for most of the time in recent months and it would be nice if I actually had something different to report here for a change.

A nice spell of heavy rain would help to break the monotony here and there was some light rain a short time ago. However, even that was barely enough to wet the ground and since has been happening so often in recent times, that in itself just adds to why the weather in this part of the world is so boring just now.

As far as the temperatures go, I'm not getting enough data to provide a full report for that. From what little data I have though, I can say that today has ended up being milder than yesterday. Too much cloud cover means that the temperature is refusing to drop and even as late as 8pm this evening, the temperature was still close to its highest value of today, of around the 13°C mark.
