In the end, a total of 8.1 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank which shows that we are still a wee while away yet, from it no longer being possible to get any recorded sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank between 4pm and 5pm. This also means that an overall total of just another 4.6 hours of sunshine or more is needed at Edinburgh Gogarbank over the course of the next two days in order for this month to then go down as being sunnier than average there.

This has now taken us into a clear night with the temperatures dropping once again to the extent that it is actually even colder here at the moment than what it was at this time last night.

On that note, the temperature at 8pm this evening was already down to -1.4°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, -2°C at Edinburgh Airport and -0.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh with yet another official air frost already being recorded at all three of my local stations as a result.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Well it looks like the summer ends from now. Still desperately dry and cracked ground with the latest LP drifting East. Even the cold weekend continued this long sunny spell of weather that seems like from the end of April. I wouldn't be surprised if the May to October 31st sunshine hours exceeded same period for 1976. A proper dull, windy, chilly Autumnal day now that looks to continue back into normal seasonal weather. It's been a great ride down here in the S.E corner though.
