This has to be one of the most boring days of weather which you could possibly encounter and because of that, this is probably a day which I will now be glad to see the back of.
From start to finish, the entire day has just been one big depressing, boring and monotonous grey nothingness with constant grey skies all the way through the day, and nothing else actually happening.
The end result of this is that in the end, nothing in the way of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank. Today was therefore, our sixth completely sunless day of this summer and our fifth sunless day of this month. This was also our second sunless day in the space of just three days, and this also means that we have now had more sunless days during this month than what we had back in February.
This in turn means that we are still needing at least another hour of sunshine between now and the end of this month for this month to go down as being sunnier than average and now, there are just three days left of this summer in order for that to happen.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 9pm this evening was 13.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
