A cloudy start to today yet again but the moment, we have quite an amazing sight of an orange coloured Sun trying to be seen through a veil of cirro-stratus/alto-stratus cloud. So far though as at 8am this morning, nothing in the way of sunshine has been recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 11.6°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 11.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 12.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.4°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The Sun is now trying to be seen through all of the cloud which is around. However, this morning has just been that same old story yet again which we have seen throughout this month with yet more constant grey skies which on this occasion once again, has resulted in nothing in the way of sunshine having been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

In addition to that, the temperatures are refusing to rise during the day once again and so, the temperature at 12 noon was 13.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 14.6°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Rather on the cloudy side but in a bright photography studio kind of way.

The current 20.1 C & 68% H are feeling pleasantly mild in light winds.

Here in Edinburgh, nothing has changed since my last report on this thread.

We are still in that same old boring and monotonous grey nothingness which we have been experiencing all day here and so, there is still nothing in the way of sunshine which has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon.

Today's maximum temperature was 17.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17°C at Edinburgh Airport and 17.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so today was slightly cooler than yesterday.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 16.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16°C at Edinburgh Airport and 16.8°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

This has to be one of the most boring days of weather which you could possibly encounter and because of that, this is probably a day which I will now be glad to see the back of.

From start to finish, the entire day has just been one big depressing, boring and monotonous grey nothingness with constant grey skies all the way through the day, and nothing else actually happening.

The end result of this is that in the end, nothing in the way of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank. Today was therefore, our sixth completely sunless day of this summer and our fifth sunless day of this month. This was also our second sunless day in the space of just three days, and this also means that we have now had more sunless days during this month than what we had back in February.

This in turn means that we are still needing at least another hour of sunshine between now and the end of this month for this month to go down as being sunnier than average and now, there are just three days left of this summer in order for that to happen.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 9pm this evening was 13.5°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 13.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
