Once again, we have the same old story yet again of this morning dawning with yet another depressing and soul destroying grey nothingness and permacast hell with yet more constantly grey skies, resulting in nothing in the way of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.
I'm sure that this is the day when Gusty said that he would be here in Edinburgh and since he did say he had come to see this much talked about permacast hell, he is not likely to be disappointed on that front since that is what we have just now.
At the moment, it is though it is asking too much for us to get even a single decent bright and sunny morning, let alone a string of them together and to be honest, I'm getting a bit fed up with this!!
This means that whilst the first two months of this month were quite decent overall, this has to be one of the dullest starts to any summer month that I can remember as this month so far in terms of sunshine at least, has descended into something which wouldn't surprise me if this was worse than anything which we got at the beginning of the same month, even in those really poor and miserable summers which we have had in the past, such as 2007 or 2012.
However, last night was a bit cooler and fresher than of late and so, last night's overnight minimum temperature was 11.9°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11°C at Edinburgh Airport and 12.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 14.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14°C at Edinburgh Airport and 14.1°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
