currently sunny and dry.. 28.3 deg c so cooler than yesterday ( 31.5) .so not so unbearable with a slight breeze.

will take advantage of eating outside this evening as all change on Wednesday

Sometimes if I have a real moan about something, the weather will actually change in response to that. Of course, the weather doesn't know that I've moaned about it and hasn't actually changed because of that. The fact that this has happened though, is therefore just a sheer coincidence.

It is really since this morning that this has happened because now that I have had a good moan about it, the sunshine has come through a lot more with the result that a total of 2.1 hours of sunshine has now been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 4pm. That still isn't all that much of course, but it is enough to make today, our sunniest day of this month so far.

As at 4pm this afternoon, the temperature was 20.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 20°C at Edinburgh Airport and 21.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

 

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Very humid with dew points in high teens and temps knocking on 30C - Met office are expecting somewhere down here on the south coast to hit 31C this afternoon.

With almost certainty somewhere within the confines of the city would have hit 32C or even 33C thanks to the very localised micro climates, but the best I managed was 30.2C and looking at local stations (all on gosport side) around 30C seems to have been the today's best.

As for official met stations im not sure what the max was but Gosport Fleetlands looks to have been just shy of 30C, howwver there are others such as Hurn and that one near Southampton.

As we have gone further into this evening, there has been more in the way of cloud which means that a total of just 3.7 hours of sunshine was recorded for today in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank. That is enough to make today, the sunny day so far of what has been a very dull month up until this point although even today's final total is still no better than what I would be expecting to see during the winter.

Today's maximum temperature was 20.7°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 20°C at Edinburgh Airport and 21.2°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 9pm tonight was 16.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16°C at Edinburgh Airport and 16.5°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
