In the end, a total of 6.6 mm of rain fell at Edinburgh Gogarbank during yesterday, along with 6.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
So far as at 6am, this morning has been completely dry at Edinburgh Gogarbank although a further 0.2 mm of rain has fallen at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh from a shower of rain which passed through during the early hours of this morning.
For Edinburgh Gogarbank, that takes this month's total so far to 40.0 mm, the total for this summer so far to 95.6 mm and the total for this year so far to 363.0 mm as at 6am this morning.
For the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, that takes this month's total so far to 31.2 mm, the total for this summer so far to 82.8 mm and the total for this year so far to 354.0 mm as at 6am this morning.
Yesterday's totals weren't particularly massive and the last couple of days of this month brings only a risk of a few showers with that shower risk for today actually being downgraded in subsequent BBC Scotland forecasts between last night and this morning.
Furthermore, most of any showers which are around over the next couple of days, are expected to be further west and so, we may well have had our last official rain day for this month because of that.
That in turn, is probably the final nail in the coffin for this month going down as anything other than a substantially drier than average month, although this month hasn't actually turned out to be as dry as it had looked as though it would be for quite a long time.
