Rain finally stopped in mid-afternoon after 9.8mm fell. Sun came out around 4pm and it's been sunny all evening but not warm with a max of 17.7C and down to 13.8C now.

A dull and rather wet evening has resulted in the rather disappointing total of just 3.8 hours of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

It is also still very windy with maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank of 36.6mph from the south as at 10pm tonight.

This also brings today's rainfall totals to 13.0 mm at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 8.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as at 10pm tonight.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 10pm tonight was 11.2ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 12.0ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.


The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
