Absolutely biblical thunderstorm in Cambridge about half an hour ago. 14mm fell in half an hour which is more than the previous 60 days combined. Temperature fell from 29.6C to 19.5C in the same time. Humidity jumped from 35% to 97%, dew point shot up to 19.0C. Wind gusted to 48 knots as well. Incredible stuff. Cambridge station

Standing on the platform at Waterloo station watching some incredible displays of forked lightning and booming thunder almost directly overhead. Fantastic stuff.

That storm over Norfolk looks terrific (from a weather point of view) big flat pancake top to it now establishing itself. Some real potential of a supercell there this evening, with another pulse of seed storms making their way to that area

Stay safe if youre about that area... im epxecting to see some extreme falls of rain tonight....

Those storms to the south a building on their westward flank - hoping they all don't go to my east. Would be great to get something after sunset as well.

Gone quiet now here after that intense thundery downpour which gave us 9mm of rain in as many minutes.

Amazing cloud structure overhead here, very turbulent looking skies indeed.

Had fun chasing around Lincolnshire today .  Just had a biblical storm just south of Immingham lots of lightning strong straight-line winds  and ridiculous amounts of rainfall .

Had to escape another one near Saltfleetby that was dropping large hail.

Now just sat in the car admiring the storm clearing to the north ready for anything down south to give me a nice bit of nighttime lightning to  cap off this fantastic day .

Wow, we've just had the most extreme electrical storm I ever saw - and it's on video but will take a while to process and upload.

Not a vast lot of rain but constant thunder and lightning - still not over so only cautiously online.

Friends messaging me that were due to see the open air Shakespeare in the round in York that got cancelled at the last minute, and they were fleeing the venue dodging big hailstones. Damage to cars as well apparently.

Looks like an MCS coming inland near Ipswich - clear eye in the centre on the current radar.
