not as hot here today and less humid and back to the dry heat, perhaps this is helping to fuel the storms further north

Yesterday it all levelled off at around 1pm.

Tibenham still leading the way, 34.1C at 1pm. That's about a degree up on where we were at 1pm yesterday. I don't know what the conditions are like further east but here in London it's virtually cloudless, very different from yesterday.

Unlike yesterday at 1pm, still rising here. 35.6C I wonder how Tibenham is doing? (just on Sky News as 34.1C)

[edit] Spoke too soon - signs of it levelling off here now at around 35.4C

I'm 10 miles NE of Tibenham and my VP2 is now reading 34.6C. I've also collected my own data for 15 years and raided the met office records for stations closest to Norwich everyday since 1900.

Today is now the 3rd hottest day since 1900, only 2003 and 1932 to go (need another 1.3C to get them both)

Exciting

Just noticed that Wattisham, about 9 miles SW of here, was reporting 32.1C at noon when I had 32.9C.

After a bit of levelling off, I've now got 35.8C but without a 'proper' station local and current to compare it to yet, that needs a large pinch of salt. It should be within a degree, though.
