Today has ended up being yet another glorious day with normal service for this month (and indeed this summer, but without those easterly winds) being resumed once again.
If anything, the clouds have broken up even further during the course of this afternoon which has allowed us to see more in the sunshine although we are now seeing more in the way of high cloud ahead of that big weather system to our NW which is associated with the remnants of Hurricane Chris.
So far though, a total of 8.3 hours of sunshine has been recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon.
The wind has picked up a little bit but in the absence of any on-shore breezes, it has become very warm and the temperatures haven't yet peaked for today as I write.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 24.4ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 25ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 24.9ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which makes today, the warmest day of this month so far at all three of my local stations.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
