This morning has brought us something which hasn't actually happened all that often during this summer so far in this part of the world due to all of the easterly winds which have been around, and that is a completely sunny early morning period which as at 8am this morning, has resulted in 2.7 hours of sunshine being recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
Last night's minimum temperature was 8.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 10.2ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so last night ended up being a bit cooler than of late.
Once again though, the temperatures have started to respond quite nicely to the sunshine so that the temperature at 8am this morning was 14.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 14.5ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
