New one on me. Like the citrus climate I think the warmth must be getting to some of us.

A very pleasant 30C with a F3 easterly and blue skies. The slight dampening of the soil yesterday evening is but a memory today.

Talking of tinder conditions I wonder how many people have used the stuff or even seen it?

At long last, the Sun has finally managed to break through. It has taken quite a while after that to get any more actual recorded sunshine but at 5pm this afternoon, a total of 2.1 hours of sunshine had been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Now if only we could just get rid of that easterly wind which is still around, that would be perfect but then, we now know that this would just be asking for too much.

Since it has taken so long for the Sun to come through though, the temperatures have not yet peaked for today. So, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 17.6ÂșC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16ÂșC at Edinburgh Airport and 16.1ÂșC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which is still rather disappointing for this time of year.

It’s blowing a gale by the Thames at Tower bridge and cooling down rapidly. Feels almost mistral-like. The sky is the deepest blue yet.

A max of 27.5C today, I thought it would go higher than that but the fresh breeze kept the temperature down.

A sunny evening has resulted in a more respectable total of 6.8 hours of sunshine being recorded for today in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank. However, we now have more of that easterly muck coming in from off the North Sea as the Sun has set.

Those of you who have followed my posts on these threads will know that during this summer so far, this has usually always led to a dull and overcast start to the following day with there just being the one occasion so far where this hasn't been the case. This means that the omens are once again, not looking good for tomorrow morning.

Today's maximum temperature was 17.6ÂșC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17ÂșC at Edinburgh Airport and just 16.1ÂșC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which for of these three stations, is very disappointing for the time of year (but then, that's what happens when the temperatures refuse to rise during the day when I want them to).

Meanwhile, the temperature at 10pm tonight was 12.7ÂșC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13ÂșC at Edinburgh Airport and 13.7ÂșC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
