17.9C here with stronger ENE wind.

It's more humid and there's a hazy sky rather than the extreme clearness of recent days.

A fine and sunny day with a peak of 25.8 C at 3 pm, now currently 23.6 & 52% H. I miss my regular lawn cutting routine, although there is the hedge to do.

PS: A shame I'm not into BBQs and all that to celebrate my 51st Earth Year on this planet as this is actually the first actual summer-like birthday in years. Last year, it was generally dull and drizzly with a max of 20 C on my 50th birthday but it did brighten up by mid-afternoon.

There were some tentative signs of it brightening up for a while and just to show that it's not quite so bad further inland, the still rather dismal total (which is probably still better than what it would be right here where I live in the north of Edinburgh) of 48 minutes of sunshine have now been recorded for the whole of today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

However, those tentative signs of brightness didn't last for long here and we remain very much in the same permacast hell as before with yet more constant grey skies to endure, and yet more of that easterly muck.

Today's maximum temperature was 17.4ºC at Swanston, 16.4ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15ºC at Edinburgh Airport and just 14.8ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh which for all of these stations, is very disappointing for this time of year and a massive let-down from yesterday's heat.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 15.6ºC at Swanston in the south of Edinburgh, 15.1ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 14ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 14.1ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

A max of 28.4C today, with unbroken sunshine of course. Now 20.8C with a cooling easterly breeze.

It was lovely sat in the back garden (facing East) this evening, drinking red wine.

Inside the house is still very warm though at 25.6C so it`s going to be another uncomfortable night for sleeping.

Meanwhile here on the other end of the M8 motorway and not much more than 40 miles away from where fullybhoy is located, the permacast hell which has been here all day is still in place and the fact that this cloud cover has now spread westwards and got as far west as Glasgow does not bode well for here tomorrow. In the end, this has resulted in the rather diabolical total of just 48 minutes of sunshine being recorded for the entire day at Edinburgh Gogarbank which is absolutely pathetic!!

Meanwhile, the temperature at 10pm tonight was 12.3ºC at Swanston, 12.7ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 12.9ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
