When I went to bed last night after starting off this thread, that east coast muck had closed in and because of that, I had expected another dull and overcast start to this morning since that is what usually always happens at this time of year under an easterly at this time of year in this part of the world.
That is not what has happened this time though and instead of that expected dull and overcast start to the day, we have much to my own surprise and astonishment, a bright and sunny start to this morning with 2.2 hours of sunshine having been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 11.2ºC at Swanston in the south of Edinburgh, 9.8ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 8ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 10.5ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 15.7ºC at Swanston, 16.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 15ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 16.5ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
