There is still a lot of cloud around as there normally is at this time of the morning these days, but there are some good sunny spells getting through as well, although this has only resulted in just 24 minutes of sunshine being recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 7.6ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 7ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 9.3ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, so it was a cooler and fresher night than of late and this is the first time for quite a while, that the temperature has dropped down to single figures at all three of my local stations.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 11.7ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 12ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 12.9ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
It's just a shame now, that it is all being forecast to go downhill later on with the arrival of an Atlantic weather system what would probably undoubtedly be classed as a named storm if the same thing happened during the winter and of course, it wouldn't then surprise me if that was "it" for our summer after that.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
