This morning started off on a promising note as there was enough clear skies around during the early hours of this morning for me to be able to see the first sunrise which I have been able to see for quite a long time. However, it wasn't long after that, that it then clouded over from the west to leave us with that same old story yet again, of no recorded sunshine at all as at 8am this morning.
Meanwhile, the showers which I reported just after midnight on the opening post of this thread have resulted in 1.2 mm of rain being recorded for today so far at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as at 8am this morning. This in turn means that today will now go down as an official rain day at that station as a result.
However, those showers completely missed the area where Edinburgh Gogarbank and Edinburgh Airport are located, and this means Edinburgh Gogarbank is still completely dry so far today as at 8am this morning.
Last night's overnight minimum temperatures were 11.7ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 11ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 10.9ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was 12.6ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 12.7ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
