Dense and very thick fog continues to shroud this part of Edinburgh, making everything around me look as spooky and scary as the general mood of the entire country just now.
The result of this is that in the end, nothing in the way of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank and so, today will go down as our first completely sunless day of this month and our first sunless day of this spring.
This means that a minimum total of 6.8 hours (or more) of sunshine still need to be recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank during the last five days of this month, in order for this month to go down as being sunnier than average overall.
On paper, that still looks like something which should be able to occur without any problems. However, we have now had a total of just 6 minutes of sunshine over the course of the last two days and if we are to get over that finishing line, we really need to start getting far more sunshine during these next five days than what we are seeing just now.
Today's officially recorded maximum temperature was 7.2°C although it was actually warmer than that during the early hours of this morning which just goes to show how the temperatures have refused to rise during today.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 6pm this evening was around 7°C here in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
