This morning got off to a bright and sunny start.

However, the presence of too much wind around means that we still haven't been able to get an air frost here in Edinburgh.

Furthermore, there has also been some further wintry showers during the night and there was a passing snow shower just a short while ago.

As at 8am this morning, a total of 3.8 mm of precipitation had fallen at Edinburgh Gogarbank since 9am yesterday morning, along with 3.0 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 1.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and 1.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am this morning was around 3°C here in Edinburgh which isn't even the least bit cold for this this time of the morning at this time of the year.

Mostly sunny, it's only the mod W breeze that is making the current 8.8 c feel fresh and cool. Helping to dry things up quickly ahead of the next round of Autumn rubbish for late tonight.

Don't think there has been a frost with a min of 2.5 c, but I didn't wake up until 8.30 am anyway.

There was a couple of sleet and snow showers earlier on today with quite a heavy snow shower around the latter part of this morning. Apart from that though, the rest of today has been mostly sunny and in the end, a total of 5.0 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Those snow showers have meant that since 9am this morning, a total of 0.8 mm of precipitation has been recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8pm this evening, along with 0.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 4.9°C and the temperature at 8pm this evening was around 1°C here in Edinburgh.
