Although the south and east had a dry first half of the month, up in Pennine areas we've only had 7 dry days so far. The last 6 days saw 67mm at Bingley! September total so far at Bingley is 100mm and that's before tonight's deluge!

Yes should break the 100mm mark by this time tomorrow. A massive change from the first part of Sept. I tried digging the garden just over a week ago and it was like concrete, should be much easier now.

Widespread flooding in Yorkshire now. 120mm (monthly total) at Bingley up to 0700 this morning. A good few hours of heavy rain to come. See BBC TWO for Yorkshire conditions at the World Cycling. The Fanzone is flooded in Harrogate and concert cancelled. Such a shame!

Loads of flooding around St Helens with numerous roads closed. Most of this is due to run-off or drains being unable to cope, as the town doesn't have any major rivers running  through it.

No idea why the Met Office removed us from the weather warnings today. 33.5mm and more to come looking at the radar.

It's just been the same story as it's been all year here. Frequent rain - almost daily with no settled spells but never in large amounts so total only slightly above average at 62mm. 8mm or more on four of the past five days but a max total of only 13.2mm

Horrendous conditions on the Banffshire coast yesterday:

Doesn't appear to be any rain gauges in the area. Nearest one I can find near Memsie, south of Fraserburgh recorded 51.2mm in the 36 hours up to 3pm today

After this vile month and the awful May and Summer that preceeded it a settled spell of crisp autumnal weather is most definitely needed and what do we look like getting? More of the same horrific, nasty wet rubbish

Now up to 106mm here also.  A  prolonged downpour Saturday lunchtime delivered 10mm, then another 31mm of rain from Saturday night through to Sunday afternoon.

Now verging on the wettest September I've recorded (since 1982).  Just another 3mm needed to beat the wettest September I've recorded (Sep 2000).

Just astonishing that up until the 14th only 7mm had fallen here.

A long way from that here, on 80mm well over average now but as recently as 2017 had 113mm
