A slightly more forgiving 24 c here at the coastal edge of Folkestone at 11.45 am, even with the sunshine. but the DP is the same as yesterday at 19 c due to higher humidity levels (currently 75%).

Bracing myself for tomorrow.

Manage to completely sleep through the thunderstorms which hit Greater Manchester overnight. Woke up to mostly cloudy skies again in Stockport.

Now in Bolton where I have stopped at Smithills Hall manor house. Nice and warm and sunny here but signs of it clouding up.

Here in Edinburgh, the Sun has appeared on the odd occasion during this morning but although there has been some blue sky around, it has remained mostly cloudy so that a total of just 18 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.

In addition to that, the temperatures are also refusing to rise just now and at Edinburgh Gogarbank, the temperature at 12 noon was actually lower than what it was at 4am just prior to those earlier thunderstorms moving in.

The air has a much fresher feel for now, but it is still rather warm though and so the temperature at 12 noon was 20.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 21°C at Edinburgh Airport and 22.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

24°C and sunny here now after a damp and murky start to the day. Although there is quite strong wind it feels pleasantly warm once again.

Being a surprisingly fresh-like 22.5 c here at my coastal location despite the near unbroken sunshine but there is quite a brisk onshore SW type breeze at the moment.

Temperature has been hovering between 30 and 31*C since 11:15am.  Mostly clear with some cirrus, and a fresh SW wind has been pleasant. Quite hazy towards the horizon..

A stunning day with unbroken sunshine, a steady 10mph SSW'ly breeze and the temperature rooted to 24.4c virtually all day. The dewpoint is a tad high though at 19c.

The max of 25.1c occured just after midnight.

After a mostly cloudy afternoon with a lot of medium level cloud, the Sun has now finally started to make more of an appearance. However, a total of just 54 minutes of sunshine has been recorded for the whole of today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon, which is a huge disappointment after all of that hot sunshine which we had during yesterday.

Today's maximum temperatures so far are 22.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 22°C at Edinburgh Airport and 22.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh with that maximum value at Edinburgh Gogarbank having been reached at 4am this morning. However, the temperatures have gone back up slightly over the last hour which means that there is a chance that at least one of these reported maximums could be exceeded before the end of today, especially if the Sun breaks through that bit more.

Temperature is still 30*C which is what it has been, bar a slight rise or two, since 11.15am.

That's less than a mile from where I live.

And yes, there was quite a bit of cloud today but that didn't stop it reaching 26.3C after a min of 17.9C, Becoming pretty sunny now in the early evening.
