Storm Boelo should keep this thread active for the first half of the week.

We've had very high winds and moderate rain here all day, far far worse than yesterday, trees are being stripped of leaves and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few blown down. Can't give any info on temps and rain amounts or anything as my Vantage Vue has finally given up the ghost.

A horrendous night here in the Borders with frequent blustery showers and longer spells of rain driven through by winds gusting up to around 60 mph (around 58 mph from the WSW at Edinburgh Gogarbank and around 59 mph from the same direction at Charterhall).

With all of that happening though, the temperatures have generally been refusing to drop and remain stuck at around 8°C here.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Has turned really nasty here over the last 10 mins. What I can only describe as violent rain and a rapid increase in winds. Roads have  just become rivers outside. This front (I assume a cold one) is a very active one.

Thats me retrieving the recycling bins and as much of the recycling that I can from this end of the street at 7am... again!! The street is full of swirling plastic and paper heading east!!

Gusts are 50 mph in Edinburgh. Not huge but too much for the bins. I can't wait for High Pressure after 4 rough days

Bin day is an impossible process up here in winter 😡

The weather in Hawick this morning was OK. There was some bright intervals at time and it was fairly windy, though nothing like as windy as it was a few days ago when we were being battered by Storm Boelo.

Today was my travel day which meant that I took a bus to Galashiels and then a train to Edinburgh. As I was in Galashiels waiting for the train back to Edinburgh, it was still reasonably sunny.

With my arrival back in Edinburgh though, I was greeted with a heavy shower which took a while to pass over and I kind of got a bit soaked. I still didn't think that it was massively windy here in Edinburgh even though Edinburgh was in the yellow wind warning whilst Hawick wasn't, but what wind we had still didn't really feel all that pleasant.

This evening, we have clear skies and a waning gibbous Moon that is still almost full (the actual Full Moon was yesterday, the same day as my birthday).

Even under clear skies though, the temperatures aren't dropping all that much and are current at around 8°C here in Edinburgh.
