Conclusion
August 2026 was a warmer than average month with daytime temperatures readily exceeding 20°C even on certain days when that wasn't even forecast to happen.
It was a drier than average month both in terms of the actual rainfall amounts, and in terms of the number of rain days. In terms of the rainfall amounts though, August 2026 was our wettest month since March 2026 and was our third wettest month of this year so far.
Finally, August 2026 was a duller than average month overall despite the fact that it was the only month within the summer of 2026 which didn't contain any actual completely sunless days which in itself, is very unusual for a duller than average month.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
