We'd be looking at a CET comfortably in the 20s so the winner would be the highest bidder!

It's only a matter of time until we get a 20°C July or August. Technically we have had month long periods above 20°C before, but they never coincided with a calendar month itself, so didn't count.

From what I'm aware, late June to late July 1976 managed it, as did the period around 22 July to 21 August 1995. The closest we got was 29 June to 28/29 July 2006, where it very nearly coincided with the month, but a cooler final few days of July just stopped it from happening.

No surprises this month - everyone has gone hot! Though I wonder whether we all may have gone a little too low again.

Windy Willow - I couldn't spot a prediction from you; apologies if i've missed it.

Btw just to clear up a little confusion - my name really is Dave not Bob Monkhouse as per the CETpredcition email address - Outlook needed a name for the email address account and I figured that anyone taking over the competition role in the future could use the email account and so I used the first name that popped into my head!

Anyway here's the table for July...
