I was looking at the 850s for October 2023- they were quite exceptional in September leading to a record heatwave in places; but 15C+ 850s at the start of October were repeated for a relatively long period (given the time of year) a few days later culminating in 20°C 850 temps in the SW later on the 7th at the start of a 4 day period of 15C + temps. I had several temperature readings above 23°C during this period, which of course were not exceptional, but have such high 850sbeen recorded in October before, along with a rare 20?
