A sunny start at 8.2 °C. Brisk, fresh feeling west winds. The heavy rain predicted by the BBC pictorials for Sunday is as expected no more.

Showers are predicted for today but I won't hold my breath for anything substantial. Yesterday's allowance was 1mm, which dried up within an hour. The garden irrigation will continue apace.

Overcast, breezy and genuinely cold: 8.3, dew 6.3, with the high so far being just 9.9 (the 91-20 average is 17!)

0.4mm of rain so far today.

Mostly cloudy here in Edinburgh with showery rain at times, a cold wind and temperatures of only around 10°C which is very poor indeed, when you consider that we're now just over two weeks away from what should be the start of the meteorological summer.😡

As a result, I don't think that Jerry will be able to enjoy sitting in his garden today somehow.

Sunshine and showers and strong very chilly winds for the time of the year. Currently 7.1°C and between showers. The change to warmer conditions can’t come soon enough.

In parts of the Northern Hemisphere, the period from May 11 to May 15 is often believed to bring a brief spell of colder weather in many years, including the last nightly frosts of the Spring.

The Ice Saints are Mamertus, Pancras of Rome, Servatius of Tongeren and Boniface of Tarsus. They are so named because their feast days fall on the days of May 11, May 12, May 13 and May 14 respectively, which often saw the last cold snap of the season. [Wiki]

Hope this is the last chilly night and day of this Spring. Currently 7.1 °C, clear and sunny with light winds. I wonder if the forecast showers will reach me today? Yesterday each one missed.

Just had a rainshower but not enough to show in the gauge. Dampens the dust, though and the winds are less too.

We've just had a ridiculously cold night for this time of the year here in Edinburgh (we are just over two weeks away from what should be the start of meteorological "summer" after all) as the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropped to no higher than -0.04°C with an official air frost being recorded there as a result.

According to my records, that has to be one of the latest air frosts which I've reported on here since I joined this forum 10 years ago. In my books, that is like the polar opposite of us getting a 20+°C maximum in November which has never happened here in all of my time here on TWO.

Nevertheless, normal service has been resumed for here at this of the year with a return to our more familiar sunshine and only small amounts of cloud to start the day.

Currently, a ridiculously cold (for this time of year) 0°C here in Edinburgh.

Like many others on here, I'm just looking forward now to the upcoming warm up if it comes and hopefully, the coming week will at least be a bit more seasonal as a result.
