Must admit this one caught me out. Whilst the potential for strong winds has been well signalled in recent days I wasn't really expecting this disturbance to become named. Anyway, it's the fourth of the season.

Yes, it's unusual to have a named storm without an amber warning in one of the countries taking part - maybe the MetO are expecting an amber in due course, as they named it?

Inner Islands in W Scotland look like a good candidate. Strong winds from an unusual direction combined with heavy snow could be very disruptive. 

I was wondering (speculatively) if it was because it coincided with the Easter weekend? A lot of people will be planning outdoor activities etc.

In any case, an orange warning has now been issued - later, perhaps, than the MetO would have liked (given all the holiday traffic and events)  because the exact track of the storm was extremely difficult to predict

This is one of the best Scottish webcams I’ve found over the years…we’ve often stayed in the signal box at Newtonmore station….wish we there there now…as very  snowy  this Easter Saturday!

Same here though I would have preferred David, as it was a bit too stereotypical (Basildon Dave!😂) although it had little effect on us anyway.

We did not notice it, but a neighbour remarked on very strong winds last night 1am-ish. A fiberglass bird bath had blown across our garden.

We had sustained strong wind (we were in the yellow warning zone), but nothing damaging.

David would be fine,  but "Dave".   How pathetically tabloid.   I wish we could go back to the days before named storms.  Its so dumbed down.  

As I said above, being a "Dave". Nevertheless, I do agree and my mum almost always called me David as did the rest of my family, but wife and mates, no. Definitely a "Dave".
