Re C.C. Thread topic - I assume you mean Sunday 15th February 2026? Not Sunday 15th October 2026?

Anyway back OT.

Interestingly there was some sleety in Torquay earlier as the precipitation was heavier around 21:30 and driving back towards Exeter on a380 THERE was light wet snow at the very top of Haldon hill before becoming all drizzle towards Exeter and then the odd sleety bit in a heavier burst towards Okehampton +1.9c and now risen to +2.5c. Precipitation is very light anyway and temperatures are probably on the way up now - and yes they are it is now +2.6c - the milder airmass has arrived! (Boo!) Oh well at least we have had majority of the day without rain - shame it didn't last!

Not so today, though, as it's definitely winter. It's partly cloudy, the odd spot of drizzle in the air, the temperature having risen steadily as a light southerly picks up. 3.6, dew 1.3, the overnight low being 0.7C. ( Bang goes the chance of an air frost it seems!)

There have been no air frosts since the 11th January here.

An absolutely miserable day here, heavy rain and puddles everywhere, including on the lawn. Aside from gales, heavy rain at 3 or 4C has to be about the worst winter can offer.

4.6, dew 3.9, and that's the high so far.

4.8c and mostly cloudy. Snow melting away quite quickly now. Won't be too many more hours before all traces of it are gone, except possibly the 400m hills in the distance.

After what has been a fair morning with decent sunny spells, it is now overcast once . 9.7 C & mid-70% H in mod W breeze. It has helped to shift a lot of the dampness but I fear that will return very soon.

Typical of the skies here today:

Sunny one minute, drenching the next. And always feeling colder than the wavering 6c to 9c suggested in that wind. Can't wait to see the back of this grim winter.

Clear and breezy here, with temperatures (for once) around average... 2.3, dew -0.3, which is the overnight low so far. Yesterday peaked at 5.7, so a cold day for once. There was the usual bit of rain, too, I've never known such a damp spell, there's only been three dry days in the past four weeks!

Sleety wet snow over night, at 3.00am, but didn’t settle - currrently 1.5 degrees, bright. Some small snow showers up wind might make it here, we will see.
