Cloudy with occasional rain (2.6 mm so far today), misty over hills.

All making the current 5.2 C & mid-90% H feel cold and damp, but at least winds are light.

Colder over central and Northern England than it is here today

Another gloomy damp day at 4 C in the city, 2.2 C up at Swanston. I see the Pentlands above 400m are turning white with a thin dusting!

Temperature has dropped from 4 C at 1pm to 2.5 C at 3.30pm here. Swanston at 200m is now 1.5 C

Light showers continue to be blown in on a E wind and are turning to snow over 200m

It's a shame we don't have heavier precipitation

The Pentlands continue to turn white

A thoroughly bleak day here - heavy overcast throughout, a gusty easterly to start with, easing through the day, and drizzle or light rain on and off all day long. The ground is an absolute quagmire!

5.4, dew 4.8, the high being 6.6 and last night's low being 4.8.

Temp down to 2 C now here at 90m with light rain turning to small hail and sleet at times with flakes of snow too

It is down to 0.9 C at Swanston so light snow must be starting to settle up there at 200m

Certainly at 300m before it gets dark I can see from the cameras that it's much whiter

In the last 14 days I've seen blue sky and sun once! (6+ hrs on 28 Jan) Edinburgh had over an hours sun last Saturday (but I was in gloomy Nottingham)

I do struggle with cold gloom day after day, with barely 8 hrs of daylight up here!

This morning, once again it's gloomy with light rain, currently 2.8 C and this pattern looks like repeating for the next 5 days!

The only slight interest is a bit of sleet in the heavier bursts, from the Pentland Hills cameras below, you can see snow lying at 300m + (a few miles to my south)
