Back in the day, Mike Tullett was a very knowledgeable and helpful poster to uk.sci.weather. Sadly he died of cancer about ten years ago, and his website - which had a lot of useful weather information - was taken down. However it had been archived by the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, and it can be found here:
