Conclusion
2025 was a warmer than average year overall. It was completely snowless and the number of air frosts was also below average.
It was a very dry year which was our driest year since 2018 and that raised quite a lot of concerns about drought and water scarcity on a number of occasions.
For much of the time, it was the year in which the Sun just refused to stop shining. The last few months were duller than average but that didn't really matter because by then, we had already had more than the 1991-2020 annual average during the year and it actually ended up being the sunniest year on record across the UK as a whole.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
