Some very nasty weather looks likely in the southern half of the UK on Friday. Flooding will probably be more of an issue in the west, as the ground further east is relatively dry. However, strong winds in central and western areas could also be a concern. The UKV is showing gusts of over 70mph in places, I assume a funneling effect is partly responsible. I wonder if this will be Storm Bram?

Looking at the Met Office warnings I'm right on the border for the heavy rain forecast tomorrow and Saturday.

A Classic dream winter snow scenario if there were the right conditions for cold. The Dorset Snowsports Centre will have to rely on the artificial surface again.

Looking ahead after the 'short term' hiccup, it looks like I might see the first frost of the season.

Looking at the Met Office, I don't think I've ever seen such a wet forecast. I suspect my daily rain record will go tomorrow.

One thing is for sure, I'm glad I got my conservatory roof replaced last year.

It's Storm Claudia - the Spanish have named it due to impacts in the Canaries

(Meanwhile UK weather warnings are now amber)

I’m expecting a few minor flooding issues as the farm track at the back is slightly higher than our parking area and cart lodge. It tends to run down over the gravel when it’s heavy and persistent rain.

Perhaps warnings can be dropped for areas to the south and east of London?

But lets see, the front could easily set up further south. hope not.

Surprised we still have warnings in place here.  I suppose those in charge take time to catch up.

Anyway, very relieved to have dodged this one.

The forecast has been spot on for here, it's been steadily, raining since the small hours and isn't looking like it's going to stop anytime soon.

I feel for the people who are living near the river Wellend, or any rivers in these parts, as it isn't going to take much for it to burst it banks, in many places. It was pretty full in a section near farmland, two weeks back, when we took to the dog to the paddock. I expect it won't take much to start overflowing into the fields.

Multiple flood warnings, including some red areas.

Given where some of the heaviest rain has been falling, I' ve a feeling the River Severn is going to be flooding in some of the familiar places over the coming couple of days.
