Conclusion
August 2025 was a substantially warmer than average month which even gave us our only official heatwave of the summer.
It was also an exceptionally dry month both in terms of the actual rainfall amounts and in terms of the number of rain days with only a relatively wet end to the month preventing it from going down as the driest month of the year so far. Even with that though, it was still our second driest month of the year so far.
Finally, August 2025 was a sunnier than average, but was also windier than average mainly due to Storm Floris.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
